15w is a bit heavy for 0°F cold startups, no?

Not according to the factory chart I posted above!! It's all we used at the dealership for the 13 years I was there. It gets down to 0* here.

Google search like this: cherokeeforum.com: best oil
You will get much better results searching like this.

I'm confused. Your chart, which I think is the same as in my '98 manual, says 10w for temps down to 0°F, but then you recommended 15w Rotella for the same minimum temp use.

30*F to 100*F+ 20W-40 or 20W-50
0*F to 100*F+ 10W-30 or 10W-40
-20*F to 60*F 5W-30

You need two types of cats. A test passing cat, and a hollowed out cat.

I use 10w-30 conventional, whatever brand is on sale (including store brands) and I religiously change it every 3000. Why? Because the manual told me to.

I also add some Marvel Mystery Oil sometimes. Why? It makes me feel like I'm doing something.

In summer, I switch to 10w-40. Why? A mechanic I trust said it's okay.

I have more than 300k on mine and - thankfully - it runs great.
