honestly? I wouldnt buy any of them. Seen all three have serious issues when you need it to work. I would buy a couple different length straps and have good recovery points until I saved enough to buy a good quality winch

Mudd obviously you want a cheap winch. buy one or the other.
like I said I have seen both smitty and rugged have issues. when you are stuck you want it to work. Be done and order it.

I like how every post gets way out of hand. If you dont have one of those winches or have not used them then just dont respond, is it that hard?
He asked a simple question and if you dont have a simple answer then just move along. I notice there is always someone dawging on somebody for something or another. Can't we all just get along?
No i just recently purchased the xrc8 with the synthetic rope and i made this purchase cause what i found it is a good winch for the money, obviously the more you spend the more you get, but for the money ive heard its pretty solid. I have a friend that has had one for about a yr and its still working strong.
I went with the xrc8 and im happy with my purchase!
