Mig.
Very easy to use and good for general welding. Get one with Shielding gas, not a flux core. If you really get into it you can get a TIG, but that is mostly used for aluminum.

Tigs are used for everything i love TIG id rather do it than mig but mig is easier and faster i enjoy the technical part of all welding, if ur beginning welding go with a mig abd take it sloe teach yourself to be a good patient welder and takw pride in it

A mig that can easily changed between gas and flux core, would do most the welding you would need. Although a TIG sure makes a nice weld

Def mig. I like my tig but if I don't use it for a few weeks it's like learning all over again. I can pretty much write my name with a mig. If you can afford it get a 220v. A lot of the 120v welders aren't strong enough to weld anything bigger than 1/8". And stay away from flux core. Go with a reputible name and not some bargain brand. You get what you pay for. Miller, Lincoln and Hobart are great brands in that order.

They put PVC roll bars in Broncos so I guess a roof rack out of it would be ok but then if you plan on putting anything on it then prob not.

Affordable and appropriate welder for the casual fab around the garage. To each his own though.

Decent welder especially for the price, a buddy of mine has that exact one. I wouldn't use it to make any bumpers or weld on axles though just not penetration. 1/4" will max it out.
