Default what size hex wrench for transfer case

Tried to change my transfer case fluid today, but did not have the right size hex>

Ay ideas?? dont need to buy a whole set

what year? Im a chrysler tech, and my best guess is 10mm. you might be able to get away with a 3/8" but a ten should do it.

it is not 10mm on all tc's...the drain and fill plug on my 96 np231 is i think 30mm. im not sure if thats the exact size but its in the 30mm range

If you need a hex socket (kinda like an allan key) then the size is 10mm. But like phillyxj570 said it could possibly be a big normal socket needed. On a 99, it will be a 10mm hex though.

Of course, get the fill plug out first. Otherwise, Mr Murphy will strike and you'll be there with an empty case cursing that you can't get the fill plug out.
