What shocks are the most "comfortable"??

What shocks are the most "comfortable"??
I was looking at shocks today and searched the forum and cannot find a straight answer.
I just want some inexpensive shocks that provide a comfortable and least tipsy ride for a daily driver xj. mine has the stock ones on it still and 2 out of 4 are making a weird noise, so I figured instead of just throwing stock at it I would see if I can do better.
I do not do much off-roading.
I know its a jeep and that is the way tey are. I do occasionally drive through fields but other than that its all highway and back-roads (they can be a rough ride for sure).

OME (old man emu) suspension components and shocks are by far the most comfortable and smoothest riding components you can buy (they strive for "better than stock" ride even on lifted vehicles). Check into them everyone that i've talked to with them has loved them.

Can't say which Bilstein should go on the XJ. I just know that twice I "upgraded" from factory installed Bilsteins on different trucks and both times it was a mistake.

They are indeed made by Monroe Australia, but they are NOT the same as the Magnums, despite what people in that thread are saying.

Monroe Australia, as the only shock absorber manufacturer in Australia, does produce the Nitrocharger range for ARB under agreement to ARB. In this agreement ARB (Old Man Emu) is the only private brand 4x4 shock absorber range that Monroe can make, other than their own Gas Magnum range. All other 4x4 shock absorbers are imported. The OME product has a number of exclusive features compared to the Monroe Gas Magnum product. They are: 18 mm Piston Rod compared to 16 mm in the Gas Magnum Triple Lip Check Valve Oil Seal compared to mufti lip seal type 1.6 mm Reserve tube thickness compared to 1.3 mm Most importantly, the OME Nitrocharger range has many hundreds of hours spent on valving engineering to ensure the shock absorber is matched to the OME coil range, as well as the OEM coils. This why in most cases there are a choice of part numbers to choose from for an individual vehicle. The Monroe Gas Magnum is valved as a replacement for the original shock and therefore has only 1 part for each application.

like dukie said above the monroe shocks are compairable to stock shocks, but i like the stiffness i get from the gabriel untra shocks, and it handles the corners alot better to

Stay far away from Gabriels, will make it feel like it has rigid mounts and no suspension. I bought skyjacker hydro's cause there is a rebate right now, mine rides fine. I also use KYB, or Monroe, and have never heard a bad word about OME
i think they ride nice and no body roll. Alot better than my shot stock shocks
