It is connected with the throttle cable, has electrical connections along with a vaccuum connection ( which I broke ). The odd thing is that my friend has a 93 same xj just a 242 instead of my 231, and he doesn't have this thing.

That is the cruise control actuator...it pulls the throttle open and holds it when you set the cruise control.

On my 96 controls are one the steering wheel. Three buttons on the bottom of the airbag area.

Prior to that, the controls are on the end of the turn signal stalk for setting/coasting. There is a lever switch on the body of the turn signal for off/on/resume functions.

It is the same as the GM "smart switch". Probably made by Delco.

Went out and checked, turns out I have some controls on the tip of the handle, Its a slider that can click in left or be pusshed into the right but not stick ( accel?) and the middle button. I tried all of them, pressed all the buttons at all different positions, is there a speed limit on this, i only got up to about 30...

Actually, they work pretty good. Not generally known for trouble.

Delco supplied to both GM and Jeep.

Turn signal, cruise, headlight dimming, and wiper/delay/wash functions all in one convenient switch.

your vac line to it is broken that means no cruise control, reconnect it then test your cruise.

Turns out I do have cruise control im ****ing thrilled! I never tried it beyond 30 MPH! The drive to work tomorrow morning will be nice....

The speaker wire actually goes to a lighted switch (red) which is hooked up to red LEDS that are under driver, passenger, behind driver+ passenger seats + behind speaker bar that turn the XJ into an <kinda> audi a6 with red LED interior lights. Your feet turn red & the trunk turn red. Also have them lighting up dash, 4x4 and transmission shifter lights. Goes from regular XJ into casino XJ in the flip of a switch

( I prefer to make my mods as cheap as I can, being on a college student budget..., I have about 300 ft of speaker wire which looked cheaper than buying new wires, haha)
