Default relay box problem

Cooling fan wasn't working. So I moved the relay around and then something sounded like something sparking after that the relay box keeps buzzing and the jeep won't start WTF happened??

Now when it turns on the gauge for the voltage goes all the way down and back up and if I just open the ignition to acc everything clicks and un clicks the fan the ac clutch just go on and off like a hearth beat

You probibly already know this but sounds like you fried some stuff. Your going to half to start tracking stuff down with a multi meter. Some relays may be toast. Start from the power source and work your way from there.

You knocked out some relays, track them down with the battery in but when you go to pull them, disconnect the positive on your battery.

if you are talking about the same relay i had to replace on the passenger side wheel well it has everything going through it so if you fried the relay then you will get no starting no charging nothing because everything goes through that dumb thing given why it is 40 dollars not an expensive fix but it sure as hell is the most i have ever paid for a relay. so i would say you shorted out when moving the ground and fried the relay your wireing may or maynot be fried probly not depending on how bad and log is was shorted got any questions just ask i had to replace it just recently

To prevent arching and accidental shorting and surges. In proper practice you should ALWAYs disconect the power source before you disconect any electrical compenent.

i am pretty sure the 99 cherokee electrical system is way different than my 90 tell you the truth i dont even know where my fan fan electrical system leads everything is in sheathing but in mine i believe that they are controlled by four or five relays that are little square inch boxes the fan might be by the air intake not sure about that i have no clue about the fan system i have never messed with it but sounds like it is time to start tracing wires and replacing relays and fuses to figure out where the short was or wireing problem
