hey guys i just bought new sony xplode door speakers today for my cherokee and was wondering if the hatch speakers would be the same size or not. the speakers i got today are 5.25

 

Hint could all ways peel the hatch back and compare the door speakers with the hatch speakers!!

 

haha ya i was gonna but i didnt have time this evenin cause i had to go to our annual fair that we have and mess around there lol but i will do that tomorrow after i get all the door speakers depending on if i decide to or not will then come an amp and sub but idk abt that yet.

 

I just cut some 6x9s in my hatch. lol

 

ones in my girlfriends 87 were 5.25

You can put whatever size you want.

 

you can definitely fit bigger with some customization, but 5.25 should be the stock size

 

The ones in my 95 were 5.25, but they wernt very loud. I like my 6.5's much better. I dont think i will cut holes in my hatch again though. It sucked.

 

Here is some pics of mine. I still have to get a cover for them. I just cut it out and used almost like undercoating to seal up the fiberglass a little and made some tabs out of sheet metal to mount them.

 

The stock size is 5.25", But you can open them up to fit 6X9's. And still make them look like they belong there.

 

k thanks guys i think i am goin to stick with the 5.25s for right now until later cause other stuff on the jeep is goin to come first i gotta go get a front fender and some other things from the jy due to a fender bender in october lol.
