I have recently replaced my 96 jeep windshield due to my front driver side floor being soaking wet and the front passenger side being damp after rains. I thought this would fix my issue and it has no. I bought a tarp that covers from the hatch to the antenna pretty much. It’s tight so it does not flap when the wind blows and what not. I checked my jeep today after two days of rain and the driver side is soaking wet again...any ideas?

Any possibility of water getting in the cowl under your tarp?

its possible but it’s super tight. The driver side is significantly more wet.

The cowl is open on the driver's side. That's why I was thinking you may have a leak there, but if the tarp is covering the opening, I wouldn't think that would be the case.

Could be coming in between the fender and the hood, running back towards the firewall and leaking into the cabin near the hood hinges. Worth a look.

The Other place you may want to check is you roof rack , where it comes thru the roof.

I have a hole the the floorboard of my '94 xj

did the windshield thing- even Gorilla Taped across the metal windshield trim

I pulled the fabric off head liner - and tore out the small bits left in the corners- so at least I am not getting dripped on.

My summer project is to carefully remove the head liner to track down which bold holes are leaking & address those

looking a spraying either undercoat, trunk coat or one of those rubber sprays on the inside of the roof too.

gleaning the old glue off the head liner could be a challenge- mine looks like a stiff foam vs some type of cardboardish stuff

Mine has the same problem and the upper hinge mount to the body has a slight crack in it causing the door to not seal correctly.
