Question Wet Carpet everytime it rains!!!

I have a constant leak coming from my front passenger side draining into my carpet. Ive seen where people have pulled the carpet up to find out that their floor pans are completely rusted through. I am trying to prevent this and find out what is causing the leak and where. Ive seen people put bedliner in and its a good idea, but for now Im saving the carpet.

Also my grandpa is having a similar problem in his 97 ZJ.

If anyone has any info on the problem and a solution I would be very thankful.

Thanks

It's coming in through either door seal or windshield seal - silicone 'inside' the seal will halt the rain if the frame contact is good.

Maybe try having someone spray the Jeep with a hose while you sit inside and wait to see where the water comes from. It may take awhile before the sprat seeps through, be patient.

Ive noticed there is a slight leak from the top of the passenger door but its not so drastic that it will soak the carpet. Im pulling up the carpet today and to see the REAL deal im keeping my fingers crossed for no rust. I will bend the metal back on the passenger door regardless.

Yeah, if you dont those floors are going to be MUCH worse. And its hard to tell from the pics, but that rust already looks kinda bad. Id get on fixing it ASAP or youre going to be replacing the whole floor. Leaks suck for sure, but really, there are only a few places they can be coming in: Door, window (side or front), cowl vent or blower vent. It HAS to be coming in one of those.

I had the same problem. Pop your hood and spray the firewall with a hose and see if the inside gets wet. For me the blower motor was the leak. There is a black foam gasket or something that seals the blower motor. I spread black silicon all over that foam until it was sealed all the way around. Worked great and now my floors stay dry. Good Luck

The intial pic i posted was just a random pic but I tore up the carpet when i got home today and this is what i found....its pretty depressing:

Looks like Im going to have to replace the floor pans....this was the last thing i needed. When there replaced im definitely putting down truckbed liner.

I found out that it is fact the blower motor leaking. So when I make my trip to autozone tomorrow im picking up silcone, this stuff that my bro recomended that turns rust into zinc, liquid nail for the hole, and what ever else i can find that might help

I have the same problem, must have bought mine from the same guy. It died in front of my house and I helped him push it in the driveway, he said it wouldn't steer (the key was off locking the wheel) now that's a moron.
