Thats not a patch. Every Jeep Ive seen the carpet come out of, including my own, has had that rubber mat/pad. I think its a sound dampener or something. But yup, its been leaking a while and mine is the same. I was HOPING to do it this summer, but never got to it so next summer it is. If you dont weld, buy one now and start practicing.

there is one more place that is usually over looked most jeeps have a factory installed roof rack and mine leaks just a little it drips out the remote reciever unit mounted in the headliner above the rearview mirror.

I took my carpet out and found the same depressing thing but check mine on the driver's side:

Passenger side is surface rust but it is leaking by the kicker panel and I know it is most likely the windshield leaking through.

i had to patch a spot behind the rear tire and if i plan on inspecting my car again next year i will have to do in front of the rear wheels on both sides under the back seat and behind the rear wheel on the other side. grr i hate rust. what makes it worse is my state puts this stuff down on the roads to melt the snow that makes ur car rust faster. i have a friend that formerly worked for the DOT and theyput a handful of lugnuts in a barrel of this brine stuff and in a few days they were completely disolved lol

Dang I had this issues before and could never figure it out. Who would have guessed the leak would be at the blower motor

Seems as if the newer body styles are more likely to develop this problem. Still curious if there is a opening on both sides..

Well I'm going to watch this thread. I have the same problem and still haven't found it.

I did tear all the insulation off the back of the carpet, then re-installed it.

I suspect its my roof rack and the windshield, because it's on both sides in the front, DS in the rear seat area, and I discovered that even in the cargo area it is wet. I was bummed.

I've got the headliner out at the moment because I'm doing the OH console, so I plan to hose down the roof and see if it's leaking there.

I used bedliner on the floor and it didn't stick well. I'm going to find some roll-on herculiner stuff instead.

EDIT: Mine seems to be coming down the B-pillar, because I have noticed it isn't running down the firewall area, it's running under the seat where it bolts in, or seems to be.

my passenger side carpet gets soaked too. my windshield is siliconed. seeing your floor makes me scared to pull my carpet back lol. I suppose I'll investigate tomorrow. I'll deffff keep an eye on this thread. my cargo area leaked too, from the tail light not sealing. so some spray foam fixed that.

This is my exact case as well. It is worst below my drivers seat. My drivers side rear and front is soaked after it rains..
