my trannys been making some weird noise. at random times it will make this loud knocking noise, never when im driving only when im stoped, and when i shift it in to netural and back to drive it will stop sometimes, but sometimes that doesnt work and i have to wait for it to stop on its own. i have no idea what it could be

Might look'n see if your exhaust isn't touching anything. That'l make a racket. Usually a mount will "radio" vibration when your gassen it, under load. There's bolts holding the torque converter to the torque plate that can loosen and cause a knock.
Not a bad idea to check those anytime. Does it feel "close" like hitting the body of the Jeep? What does it do at say around 2000 RPM in park? Also has anyone messed with the starter lately?

My TC shifter is loose and makes the same sound. Hella annoying. I figured this out by putting some pressure on it when it was rattling and it stopped

i will be sure to check all that out, i dont think its the exhaust though. but nobody has messed with the starter, and not sure what it does at 2k rpm in park cause i never gassed it when it happen i just let it idle till it stoped. it only last for about 10-20 seconds at the most, but next time it makes the noise i'll be sure to give it some gas and see what happens

x2 on the flexplate. You can get to the bolts fairly easy and is worth checking, plus it is free!

I have no idea, but i doubt it would be cracked. the bolts just come loose and need to be tightened sometimes. Makes an awful noise for just a couple bolts. There is an inspection plate you have to remove to get to the bolts, but those are easy. Should be able to find a write up on here if you need it. Just something to check since it takes like 15 mins and costs you nothing.
