sorry, im from denmark and sometimes i dont use the right words.
im talking about the alternator. there is a condensator connected in paralel to cabel going to positive side of battery and ground. if that one goes bad, it make noise. sometimes it is internal in the alternator, so you cant see it. but you can try add another one over the battery. it should be ok with a 400uF . its cheap and will help locate the problem

Hey, no problem! I'm from the USA and I still don't use the right words a lot of the time. Lol!
Good advice and I may give that a shot if I exhaust all the easy things first and still have not found the problem.

believe it or not........two things......
1. Ground wire somewhere. not making solid enough contact.
2. The connector which attaches to your "sound system" (we used to call them stereos)....the coaxial cable that attaches to the antenna from the stereo, the Rg59/58 cable?
that guy could be "leaking"....happened to me. I replaced the cable from the "stereo" to the antenna and all that noise/buzz/click... went away. junkyard, 15 bucks.

Number one is a possibility, but not likely the cause of this. Number two, surely isn't the problem. My Jeep is emitting radio frequency. It isn't just the buzz in the audio of the radio. My car is jamming the reception of my garage door system. It is actually transmitting a wide band RF pattern. I looked at it with an spectrum analyzer at work. When I turn the Jeep on, there is a huge wide band lobe that shows up on the analyzer. It's actually pretty cool.
Drive to Ohio and hit I-75 southbound towards Cincinnati. Speed up to 110 mph whenever you see an Ohio trooper sitting in the median. If you don't see blue lights in your mirror after a few minutes, clone your Jeep and sell it as a radar jammer.

this is by far the most craziest thing I have read on CF. laptops and garage doors not opening due to random RF signal blockers. i hope i never have to deal with this issue.
Have you recently installed any audio? Like an amp?

And, like I said, it is emitting RF, not just poor reception. The radio is just a receiver. They don't transmit. Any car can do this. I am a electronics technician and I have heard of this happening before. It isn't real common but it does happen. The ignition system is the usual culprit. It's just a real pain to track down the one component that is causing the problem.
Nope. The radio and all audio equipment in her have been there for over 5 years.

Perhaps you could check the wave form coming out of the alternator and fuel pump, to see if the RF is hitching a ride down the wire.

So then, you probably have access to an oscilloscope? I've only had experience with the automotive versions, to look at ignition wave forms. Are the higher end units capable of measuring frequencies as high as the door remote uses? (350-400mHz??)

Exactly what I am about to do! I'll let everyone know what I find out tomorrow...

First off, let me say I apologize to you. You hit it right on the head. It's the damn radio. Well, at least part of it is the damn radio!
It looks like my local oscillator for the FM side of the radio has gone haywire. (This is my theory anyway) and is actually transmitting the wide band pattern I am seeing. The interference pattern goes away completely when the radio is powered off. Or the CD player is selected or the radio is tuned to the AM band. It is only when the FM band is selected do I get the interference pattern.
Now, I may also have another problem in conjunction with this, possibly it caused the problem with the L.O. in the radio, I will need to check a little further, but at least I know where the RF is being emitted.
I am a Broadcast Engineer, I maintain TV transmitters and the gear at the station and I can tell you, in almost 20 years of doing this for a living, this is the single strangest thing I have run across and it happened to my own car! Weird.
