Default Water leaking inside the passanger side

I have a 1997 jeep grand cherokee laredo.... It started leaking water in the passanger side.... buddy of my mine got it to stop leaking water.... well now the carpet stays pretty wet on the passanger side... i think it's from all the water that has gotten underneath.... the a/c has quit working on it at times it will work for a great while and then quit for a little while anyone know what might cause this?

Hi New Guy, and welcome to the forum. It sounds like your water leak problem is for sure the A/C drain. pop the hood and on the passenger side up next to the firewall you will see the Charcoal filter for the gas fumes, and under it and behind it attached to the firewall you should see a rubber hose. that is where the A/C water is supposed to drain out. I had the same problem, so I got some compressed air at a gas station and blew out the drain hole. it made a mess a little but now it drains like it should. over time lint, dust and dirt build up inside the condenser inside the heater box, and can clog the drain, so blow it out and see if that helps.

also could be the heater core going bad as well, but would check the ac drain line first.

Moved to OEM Tech, just so more would see and try to help.

However maybe he just wanted help from folks in the SE area?
