Default wanting to use 1992 short block with '01 head??

Hey, got another project with Son's 01 cherokee (4.0/auto)
Great oil pres, running at 195, good mileage but clackin like a diesel.

Have a built up '92 short block from a past cherokee that we sold 12yrs ago and want to use (plus it will free up my engine stand)

Will there be any issues with the '01 head on a '92 block?

I don't know, but why would you want to use the infamous self-cracking '01 head???

I believe it will work, but there may be some subtle differences like head bolts and block dowels.

BECAUSE:
1, Time.. This is pretty unplanned. Like I said it was running pretty good and wanted to do an engine swap and have it running through MY weekend (and it started to rain this morning. And looking at the radar, it's gonna rain all weekend --my WHOLE WEEKEND-- to which, realize that it's for a 17yr old who thinks that Time, money, resources and _______ JUST ISN'T FAIR! "I WANT IT NOW") ..always someone elses' fault
2, Money.. I looked into an 'aftermarket' head and that's 500+$ ...He hasn't even started to make payments to me for ME BUYING the Jeep.
3, It doesn't show signs of cracking as of yet. No water in oil, not running hot (with the mods I've done) or fouling plugs.

BUT, if YOU want to donate your time, money, resources (and a NEW head), well by all means do so.

Thanks Cruiser. From what I'm reading, the headbolts are still Torque to yield (even though they're like 5/8" thick.)

OK, ANOTHER question.
Since I'm swapping motor parts, I'm looking into Camshaft "upgrades" and since Comp and Lunati are only a short drive away, their offerings say that they "are NOT compatible with STOCK ECU/PCM etc..
WHAT THE HECK OVER? Are there any cam upgrades for the '01 Jeep Operational systems that won't screw everything all up?
I thought that I read of the Jeeps that they "self learn" and will compensate with slight variations.
YES, I realize that a radical cam makes for radical tuning, but heck, How can you market a cam that isn't compatible?
Does everyone that makes a stroker motor forced to run a stock cam?
Dont' make sense to me.
