So the previous owner used my rig for strictly off road purposes and it currently doesn't have A/C or heat. He said when I purchased it that he had removed the condenser. To regain A/C do I only have to replace the condenser and it will work again? I don't know much about A/C at all, so this is kind of a doozey to me. Any suggestions would be great. What should I look for?
Thanks!
Thanks!

With the cond removed the system is opened to the air,so you will alo need at least the cond and drier/receiver and evacuate system, check for leaks and recharge. It also depends on if the comp still works.

X2 You will have to make sure there is no dirt in the system. If the hose ends are dirty, you will have to replace them. Also there is a little moisture in there and that will have to be removed. The vacuum will have to be removed slowly or it will just freeze in there and not be removed.

New hoses, compressor, receiver/drier, and condenser core all must be replaced and evacuate the system. any moisture or debries in the system could give you so many problems in the future. you may get lucky by just replacing the cond but i highly doubt it and it will not work up to par.

Alright so far, on my list, I've got - new hoses, compressor, receiver/drier, condenser core. Another thing is, shouldn't I be able to at least turn it on? Or is there something electrical I have to replace as well?

there is a low pressure switch that prevents the compressor from kicking in with out enough freon. you might as well get a new one while you are at it and be sure to get compressor oil in there not streight freon you may need to get a 134A conversion kit so you have the correct fittings to fill it. i belive the 89 used R12 the new parts my still have the threaded style fittings(R12) if they look like quick disconnects for the high and low pressure ports then your are good.
