VIN number help
I've done the forum search and googled aswell it to no avail, so can anyone help ?.
I,m trying to see what extras came on my 98 sport .Here's the interesting thing ,I have tried several vin decoders and they are stating that my export model XJ is LHD , when in reality being in the UK it is ,actually RHD .
and I cant do the send my vin to Jeep as I dont live in the US so is anyone prepared to check my vin so i can get my build sheet

You will find additional information on the trim tag...the one that has your paint codes.
There are three-letter codes on that tag for trim levels, options, etc.
I don't know where they hid it on the 98's. Some are around the driver's door, some under the hood, some behind the front grille.

You just have to give it a try.
They had a build sheet for my 90 MJ but not for my 88 XJ.

That could be. I got mine about 3 years ago. I just remember folks, with earlier XJ's than mine. Not be able to get it. And that was the reason, they gave one particular member here. Maybe they where just blowing him off. Chrysler personal has to be tired of getting requests for build sheets, by now.

Hi Andy,
I know you asked this a while ago, but I just came across it!
In case you haven't found what you were after yet, I got the information about my XJ by using the link that cruiser54 posted. I filled in my address, but made up things like the State and ZIP code, then explained in the message box that I live in the UK. I got a full build sheet back a few days later.
When I use VIN decoders, mine shows some weird things too. I think the export VINs must have a different system to US ones, as the one for my mum's TJ doesn't completely make sense either.
Hope I've been of assistance!
