Default Vibration after installing lift kit

I just had a 3in installed in my 1994 CK sport and when I take off fast or hit the brakes hard it sounds like the driveshaft is rubbing. No vibration while I'm driving or slowing down so could the DS be rubbing on the skid plate or somewhere else? Thanks, Joe

If you think it is rubbing on the skip plate there would be evidence on the shaft and the skid id imagine. you should not have any extreme driveshaft angles with the 3 inch lift. i have a 3.5 with very minimal vibration at highway speed. i don't even know that it is there until someone else comments about it.

Did you have an allignment done. If not it may be wasted wheel bearings.
If not get it alligned see if sound is still there.

Climb underneath your Jeep and look for evidence of rubbing on your driveshafts. If they are hitting anyhting it should be making a nasty LOUD noise and you should see bare shiney metal. If you have anything rubbing you should be able to see the scratch marks on whatever it is. Look your entire susupension over, especially moving parts. You should be able to figure out what it is.

it could be hitting your exhaust. if not, your ds is binding up bc of axle wrap. check your ujoints.

OK so after crawling under my jeep I see the "Ears" near the u joint on the rear driveshaft rub each other when stopping fast, so will a T-case drop help this?

T-case drop is an easy way to find out. I had the same problem on my 3" where the driveshaft would bind or something?

Just take some 1" steel square tubing and cut it to 6"s. Measure where the holes go and get longer bolts. From start to finish took me about 20 min aside.

1" washers work good for this as well and they are an inexpensive TEMPORARY fix. Then buy or build yourself a 1" spacer or get a SYE.

Not to be rude but please post your own thread instead of hijacking the OP's thread......

And to the OP you might want to try a TC drop like other's said if it doesnt work then you only wasted 20mins.......

you can try using a slip yoke section from a yj, they have better clearance at the ears. also a 2-3 degree axle shim helps.

also, the u-joints are now turning in a different position now.
jeeper24, check and replace your rear driveshaft u-joints.

Thank you all for the ideas. I installed a 1in drop and it fixed the slight vibration I had. I paid $12 for it on eBay...Tj
