Vanity Light Problems

my 1998 XJ is 1 wire.

If you have the single wire visor the ground path for the lights are through the rod and mounting bracket to the sheet metal mount. Obviously this path needs to making good electrical contact. The two wire visor has both positive and ground wires, so an electrical connection through the mounting bracket isn't necessary.

I would guess that the single wire visor had issues with grounding, so the two wire visor was developed to replaced it.
They changed from one wire to two wire in '00.

No prob. I think I found replacements on Amazon.... it seems most vanity mirrors took the same bulbs

anyway.... my stock 27 year old bulbs still work..... But after reading reviews on these LED's a lot of folks say they are TOO bright.

which makes sense ..... the vanity light is not meant to be super bright.
Ima stick with stock.

I'm just happy they are still working... dimmers and all.
