Couldn't find any threads with clear instructions.
Anyways should I use gasket sealer or not?
I'm using the cheap fel pro cork style gasket. Also is there anything specific I should know before beginning.

Run a buffer on the cover and where it was seated to get all the old off and get a proper seal. Use a parts washer or hot soapy water to clean up the cover. The cork is eh....we don't use them in the shop, I'll leave it at that. And the one's we do use, we usually go over it again with gasket sealant just for good measure.

10-4. Any suggestions on sealant? And I figured the cork isn't the best but on a mud truck with160xxx the 50$ rubber gasket can go to hell.

I used the Fel-Pro cork gasket on my rig, it was cheap and I was on a budget, but it has not leaked yet in 6 months. I used a little Hi-Tack to keep the gasket in place after cleaning all of the old, rock hard cork off the valve cover.

Just in enough places to keep it in place. Do NOT use 3M weather strip adhesive (monkey snot)to glue down the gasket, it will kill the O2 sensors over a period of time.
