Default vacuum reservoir

Does size matter? Would like to use one like on our '96 Blazer. No place in the engine bay for the OEM one.

That round GM reservoir you linked to looks just like the ones in the 97+ XJs. Do you have the more football or capsule-shaped one in your '96? I'm thinking the round one might work for you, but I a '96 might have more of a vacuum load than a '97+. I believe '97+ use an electric stepper-motor actuated blend door, rather than the vacuum-actuated one you have.

The larger ones will only help if you have a vacuum leak .

He's looking to go to a smaller reservoir and wanting to know if it will be sufficient. I can only speculate.

It will work if he does not have any vacuum leaks in the system it runs .

Mine has the capsule shaped reservoir. It's an SE model with not much in the way vacuum assisted options. In fact the Blazer is fully loaded with vacuum lines galore. So the ball works fine for it. The blend door is cable operated. No vacuum leaks for sure. I'll pull the one off the Blazer and give it go. Thanks guys.

If you don't have cruise control, you will be fine.

Wish it did have cruise.

Have any idea why the small reservoir would work on our Blazer? We're talking vacuum controlled a/c & heater controls, front axle engagement, transfer case operation, cruise. And that's just what I've come across so far. Wonder if the larger one from the XJ would offer any advantage on the Blazer?
