Hey y'all. I put my tow hooks on last night and in the process, cracked the dry rotted line going to the ball in the bumper. I'm gonna call the dealer today and get a price. The worst part, I have no clue how the line is routed and where it plugs into. Any help!?

Autozone has universal vacume line with fittings, and its cheap. Just follow it up into the engine bay, figure out how much you need and any fittings. Then hack a chunk off, bring it to the store and get the right size

you can just rubber hose on the hard plastic hose then put it to the vac canister.you may need a fitting to up-size it, not too familiar with the sizes as I just got my jeep but I have done this numerous times with no issues.

Get the $5.00 prepackaged 1/4" hard line from Autozone.
Pull the rubber 90 deg hose off of the ball insert the new line in the hose and reconnect to the ball, route the rest of the line through the radiator support, behind the battery toward the "T" that connects to the cruise control servo you should have between 4" & 6" left over cut it off an stick it in to the "T" (of course you will have to remove all of the old line first).
Many have said it take about an hour with removal of the bumper cover and battery neither are necessary. Takes 10 min. max

like the others mentioned... this is a VERY easy fix and some universal rubber hose will do the trick... Zero need for the dealer part.

He's saying you are over-thinking this. Just hook up a generic vacuum line to the ball, run it through your front sheet metal, then behind your battery. Since you don't have cruise control, you won't have a "tee" fitting, so you can ignore that part of his instructions. You only need to connect to the nylon vacuum line running along your passenger fender. This isn't rocket science.
Good luck.

That is what I was saying, but now that you have a clearer picture I'm confident that you will be able to do this your self.Originally Posted by montanaman

No worries ... I've done a ton of overthinking in my time. I'm sure you'll get it hooked up with no problems.
