Default Vacumn on a aw4?

Dear gentleman,
Can any one tell me if there is a vacumn line that goes to an aw4 auto tranny? 1990 jeep cherokee 4x4.4.0 . I have what to looks like a metal line crimped to a rubber hose that comes up the top of the tranny and is sitting behind the motor attached to nothing. The best i can tell it seems to attach to the tranny on the drivers side of tranny. I might b wrong. Cause i cant get my hand all the way on top of tranny.this hose on top has a silver band in it that has been crimped on each side which has a metal line attached to it. I have found the vent lines with the plastic breathes on them. So i dont think its a vent line.i have no idea what this line is or where it goes? Thanks for the help!
Brad

That's a vent. Should attach to the passenger side upper bolt holding the engine and trans together. AW4 has no vacuum lines.

Yes that is actually just a vent hose. The AW4 is mechanical and electrical, no vacuum. You should also have vent hoses from your transfer case and both differentials.

you sure it's not the vacuum like from your transfer case?
if your 90 has the command trac t-case, you should have the vac disconnect front axle.

Front axle does have disconnect. Transfer case is 231 . Ok. Now anybody want to guess what the line is? Please and thank you!

As said above, it's a vent line. It shouldn't connect to anything.
