Using antenna mount as gutter mounts?

I picked up a used homebrew rack off of a commander (it's a big one) and now have to figure out how to mount it to my cherokee. I'm a little skeptical of mounting to the roof rails. I've looked at the JCR mounts and rails for ladders that fit in the gutter.
I ran across these antenna mounts and now I wonder if I could just double down on the number holding the rack down (three or four per sides)
Thoughts?

They're stainless steel, I'm curious as to how robust and tall they are. They must be fairly tough to hold a tall cb antenna going down the road with one mount.
The JCR mounts would be the best option though, unless these turn out to be tough looking.

The rails still have to attach to the mounts on the roof, I saw a few of those ripped loose in the junkyard. Most baskets seem to have a weight limit of a couple of hundred pounds but I bet that this homebrew with the expanded metal is a little tougher.
A cheap ladder rack with mounts ($63) has a 500 pound weight limit. But for about the same money you can get 6 JCR mounts. I had considered making my own also.
I'll take a picture of the antenna mount when I get it. It might be to short or lightweight to use.
Half the fun is figuring out how to homebrew it.
