Default Upper controll arm ?

I was just wondering if it is okay to pull the bolts out of the UCA on the axle side while there is weight on the axle. I want to replace the cam lock bolts because they don't seem to lock on to the RE CA's. I planned on using new grade 8 bolts and doing it with the vehicle on the ground.

I wouldn't do it I'd make sure you have some jacks under that frame..

any particular reason? The UCA doesn't actually go to the frame anymore it is a radius arm set up.

Oh sorry I made the assumption of stop mounted UCA's...On your setup I don't know would depend on if it could affect support or not...So I don't really know...

One side at a time on level ground would be safe I think. Do the cast one last though because it will be under a little more stress if moved at all and can take a little more abuse.

It will be fine. I've done this many times on my tj and xj as well. Mine was stock though. One at a time. Use jack stands under the frame just to be on the safe side. You just never know.

Thanks guys. I was going to do them one at a time and use a screw driver to chase the bolt out. I will be leaving the screw driver in while the bolt is out.

Good plan 99 but if you have a big punch/drift that will be better than the screwdriver.
