Im looking to upgrade my dana 30 i would like to put in a dana 44 but dk how much it would take to do it and how much money and what to buy any help

You can buy stronger shafts, stronger u-joints, updrade to a wj steering and brake set up, get a selectable locker

98 im running 33's I have a locker in it thats it, my buddy has one and everytime we go wheel he breaks his short shaft

It seems like the only thigns that you can do is:
Truss, buy some nice shafts (longfields are the best), and tac-weld our caps on the u-joints to prevent failure

if you can swing the money for it you can get a drop in 44 from the tj Rubicon but the tube diameter is the same as the 30 do it is only the axle and ring gear diameter you are gaining. so in heavy wheeling i would still look in to a truss

They are pretty close strenght wise but the 44 has advantages like larger ring gear better gear ratio avlability and larger selection of parts and upgrades.
