Unibody bumper mounting
I got into a fender bender and the unibody rail where the bumper brackets mount to got crunched in. I am not trying to spend a fortune on a new rail which is what the body shop recommended. Any ideas on fixing this? I was thinking heat and banging it out or cutting the piece from a part XJ and welding that part onto my car

A junkyard part is about all your going to get since it's at least 19 years old, so I'd go that route.

Right or left side? Left (driver) side gets involved with the stearing gear mount if the bent frame section is the one that runs front to back. Note: brackets that are used with front tow hooks will reinforce that area.
