Take them off, I just removed mine. Looks a ton better. Careful though, the edges are sharp! Don't ask.....

yeah take them off! looks a lot cleaner. scrape double sided tape off with fingernail or something that wont scratch the paint then a washcloth with some gas to get the goop off.

I just took mine off the other weekend and it gave the jeep a much cleaner look IMO.

I took mine off a few months ago. It looks much better than that old faded plastic. I bedlined my bumper caps as well, because they were faded as well.

I tried painting my with Krylon fusion paint and it started chipping after a few months, even with primor. Bedliner is the way to go, it's just a lot of prep work. Its kinda hard to see in the pic but paint isn't your best bet.

Yeah, I had paper cuts from hell on all my fingers. I got a corner loose so I just grabbed and pulled. Sliced them right open.

Just wanted to add... some people say that using a hair dryer will bring the plastic back. Others paint them with good results. Just make sure to take off the oxidation before paint.

IMHO if you park in crowded parking lots I would leave them on.

if you take them off, use goo gone or goof off to remove the sticky crap left behind.
if you paint them, use krylon for plastic. i use flat or semi-gloss.

As for color... Black is my preference.. I'd say pull as much plastic off as you want, no fender flares and end caps is legit, IMHO.. From here, either paint it all and then bed liner up as far as you want- some do just running board area, others up to the window line. It's preference. If you want to save paint, then only paint down to bed liner. Good luck.
Also consider doing bed liner on floor under feet, like the outside, this takes some work, but the results are usually worth it.
