Default ugh not starting

just got a brand new battery a month ago and i went to go towork this morning and it didnt turn over sounded very weak any ideas? hope its nothing major

dead battery. Did it start with a jump? Could also be a bad alt, but if it is a one time thing I would assume battery. Autozone and other larger auto parts places will test your alt, battery, and starter for free, if you can get the xj or the parts there.

If you have a multimeter ill explain how to test for draw and find where its coming from.

1. Always start with cleaning battery cables and battery posts until SHINY.

2. Ensure charging system is charging your battery. With healthy charging system and battery, you should see around 13.5 to 14.0 volts on a meter or on your dash gauge (which is not always accurate....)

3. If above checks out, have your battery LOAD TESTED. It is the only accurate way of testing a battery. Any parts store will do this for free.
