Default Two issues

So today I was working on my 92 xj sport recharging the a/c with some freeze 12. Learned today that my e fan isn't working for some reason and my a/c compressor clutch also won't kick on when I turn the a/c on. If I jump power from the battery to the compressor the clutch kicks in same with the e fan. Any ideas? All fuses are good

Your E-fan should be triggered by a temp sensor at 215-220*F and/or when the AC is turned on. The AC will not turn on if the pressures are too far out of spec, or if the relay for the compressor clutch is not working.

Maybe too much r134a? I've found too much will keep the system from operating itself into pieces.

Well it had r12 and I was replacing it with freeze 12 and only put in two small cans until I can find out what's wrong with the a/c clutch

Anyone have a pic of where the e fan temp sensor is? I thought it was on the radiator but mine doesn't have one

In my limited experience , you can't buy r12 off from the local store.....it has to be recharged by a certified auto shop.
Hopefully someone with more experience can chimp in.

Very true...however freeze 12 is an r-12 replacement that is legal for anyone to buy.

Anyone know how to charge the a/c without the compressor running? It won't take the freon nearly at all without the compressor running

I thought the compressor had to be running with gauges installed to properly measure hi/low pressures and fill the system, no?

Absolutely correct...so after evac for 45 mins if your compressor won't come on because your low on freon then how do you charge it?

Run a jumper across the low side contacts?.....presuming gauges are connected.
