Anyone know how to do this in a 2000 XJ? I've googled it and searched in the local forum and have found nothing. Dont know what it is but that buzzer makes me want to rip my dash apart and kill it

Buzzer? I have a 2000 also and don't have any noise when I open the door. But look in fuse diagram and see if there is a fuse you can remove to get rid of it.

its more of a door chime than buzzer but buzzer is more common. Anyways I haven't got into the fuse panel yet, and don't have a manual to check.
On my XJ if you leave the keys in the ignition while its turned off and open the door is make the chiming sound.

Or you can pull the fuse for the buzzer thats under the left side of the dash......
I cant remember exactly where it's at under there but all i did was leave the door open and feel for the vibration from the buzzing and pulled it out and threw it away took me about 5min.s if that to find it......

snarky.
Tape the thing down, or pull the fuse. Get your Haynes manual out, and it should be listed. (For my 92, it is.)
Or, make nice with a mechanic that has the FSM, and look in there, it's the jeep bible.
