Ok so as i have said before i just got my very first jeep, its a 90 with an auto tranny 4l and 159k on it. now with that aside i have never owned a jeep or even worked on a jeep so what would be the best thing for me to do if i wanted to do a major service on it.
what should i check, what should i change, what should i replace it with, and what should i look for?
now on for my second question. If i was to take pics of the diffs could you guys tell me what kind i have and if they are worth keeping for DDing and Mild abuse?

Yes we can help you with any pics.
Change all fluids, Oil and filter, Antifreeze and T-stat, Drain and refill tranny do not flush.
Change the fluid in the Transfer (same as tranny fluid) and drain and fill diffs.
Brake fluid if you want. did I miss any fluids?
Once you get started Get you a notebook and Right down the mileage and date every time you do some thing. This will be great for when you need to do more maintenance and if you ever decide to sell it, it will raise the value of it to have a good record of mainenance.
Have fun with your Jeep. There are a ton of threads on most of the subjects you are inquiring about so read the top stick about how to search. then read some threads and they will answer most of your future questions. If you can't find something don't hesitate to ask us that is what we are here for.

You also might want to replace teh plugs, cap, rotor and wires.
On the brake and power steering fluid something I learned long ago was get one of those big basting syringe things from the grocery store and use it to suck the fluids out and refill them. That way you get little to no air in there and you get some fresh fluids in.

D30 in front
D35 in back
Can't tell what transfer case it is (take a pic of the shifter bezel)
It's got XJ Limited wheels
Looks like you could use a valve cover gasket in the future
