Pop the bolts off the crossmember and lower the tranny as much as you can. You'll have limited room but enough to get it off. It's not bad at all.

I found 1/4" drive extensions and sockets work the best in that tight area. If you have flex head ratcheting wrenches, you can get it from the top.

Easiest way is with a whole lot of extensions and a u-joint so that you can turn the ratchet underneath the car but the socket is on the bolt.

There's a few videos on youtube that show it.

No need to drop the tranny. That's just extra work. Add to your tool collection with some extensions and you'll be in business. Disconnecting the front drive shaft does help. It's a PITA but easily done in the driveway.

It took me all of two minutes to drop my tranny... It would have taken longer to track down the extensions. Haha each there own I guess. Just saying my experience. Took me 30 minutes for whole swap...

Finally got it installed, started and ran fine..Road test later.I did drop the front driveshaft and that really helped. The little plastic cover fell out and was a real pain to get back in..Thank you all for advice and tips.. Wayne
