I found this and want to give it a try. https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f51/tr...icking-108010/ My hatch is stuck so I need to unbolt those 15mm bolts but can't find them. Could they be between the body and my hidden hitch? Any ideas?
yep, your hitch may be in the way, mine is. Look upward in the first gap you see as you move your vision forward from the extreme rear of the jeep. Your vision moves across the bumper and into the first gap, where you might be able to see the bolts. They are exactly where you'd think them to be. I went through the latch adjustment procedure and mine now functions flawlessly. Once open, pull the inside trim, look in the hole, identify and slip the retainer off to free the rod in the green plastic clip, turn the threaded adjusting rod a few times, reaattach the clip, close the hatch and try it. Repeat until you're satisfied. Easy, once you get the thing open. Good luck.

Those bolts were hidden by my hitch. Lucky, after some persuasion it came up and I was able to work on it. I ended up cleaning with throttle body cleaner while moving the latch assembly. Lubed it up and put it back in. Works the first time every time now.
