transmission not shifting
96 cherokee has been working fine untill today, It is not shifting into 2nd gear I have to run it up to 3000 rpms let off and it will shift into 3rd, and it seems like the converter is not locking up in overdrive.
When it works it works fine through all gears, maybe its a control module or solinoid thats hanging up.
Please advise

the fluid is fine, I found out there is a shift control module under the dash on the right side for 35.00 I might try one of those.

My trans is shifting fine now, after checking the wire harness, found a couple wires that could have grounded out they went to the speed sensor. I ohmed out the solinoids and found one that had twice the resistance, replaced it and checked all other related sensors. all checked out and is working perfect since.
Thanks to all that had suggestions. Believe me they all help in one way or another.

Actually I found they are in the trans under the pan. But I did test them through the plug for the transmission control module. and on #1 and #3 I'm getting 12.5 ohms, but on #2 I'm only getting 9.5 I'm guessing that this is my problem.

I found that my #2 solenoid is only at 9.5 ohms. I'm thinking that this is my bad one. Anyone know where I can get one for less then the $280 that Big A wants??
