So I have a 98 2.5l 5 speed manual. My transmission mount went out. Only problem is, the mount in my jeep was only supposed to be used on the VM 2.5L Turbo Diesels with manual transmissions that were EXPORT ONLY. My jeep is an American jeep. VIN starts with a 1. I found a part number online. 5205-8539 is the Mopar part number. It was discontinued in 2018 If I remember correctly. Has anyone else ran into this? My transmissions bolt pattern for mount doesn't match up to any of the US mounts. Does anyone possibly know a bushing I can swap out for it?

Probably your best bet.

 

The early VW water cooled mounts look very similar. Maybe there is one that has similar dimensions?

Finaly i used this. Is with 5 mm each side biger but you can cut it.

 

Hey people, same situation pretty much. My transmission mount went bad and I found out that I have the same weird one on my European 2.5i from 1999.
I was wondering, does anyone have the actual sizes of those bushings?

and it really looks similar however given that the dimensions of the original bushing are a bit elusive, didn't find any solid info on that and I am a bit skeptical to try it out.
See, my XJ is my daily and it would be a bit problematic to remove the bushing just to measure and find out.

Also are we a 100% positive that the 2.5TD one doesn't fit?
