Would anyone happen to have a picture of their trans mount in relation to the cross member? Reason I ask is my exhaust is 'banging' into something on accel and I think my mount may be bad/collapsed causing the pipe to hit the cross member.
Specifically looking for the distance of the exhaust pipe from the cross member where it crosses over it (where the bracket is that comes from the trans mount.
Thanks!

check all of the exhaust mounts. I had mine hitting at the cross member when the tail pipe hanger failed.
At the trani there is a welded on to the exhaust rod that goes into a rubber mount attached to the trani mount. the other possibility is that the welded on rod has failed. I ended up making a new one on an exhaust clamp as I need to keep my California exhaust.
You may also need to replace your trani and engine mounts as they have failed.

I love those technical terms, and you beat me to it!!
Motor mounts, trans mounts and missing mount to adapter housing bolts can cause this. check those first. A good dose of "noggin pokin'" is in order by the OP.

Agree with the mounts, if trans mount is bad it's most likely that the motor mounts are bad as well.
Replace all 3 at the same time

Just got back to this post but I replaced the Trans mount yesterday and that solved the issue.. The old one was badly collapsed..
Had the old one out and new one in in around 30-45 mins or so. No more aggravating thumping anymore..
Thanks guys..
