Default Transmission is making a noise on turns

When I turn left, there is a rubbing or clacking noise. I replaced axle shafts, wheel bearings, ball joints, sway bar links, bushings, drag link, and tie rod ends. I checked for cracks in the unibody, and everything else I could think of. I finally took it to a shop to get it aligned and see if they had any idea, and they said they couldn't fix it right now but it is coming from the transmission or transfer case. They were fairly sure so I'm gonna gonna go in this direction. I replaced my trans mount a year or two ago, is it possible to put it in backwards(97 so its the offset one)? The rear driveshaft is tight and has new u joints, although the front driveshaft has older ones. They are not loose and this problem happens in 2WD, haven't checked 4WD. Is there anything else that could be moving around back there? My control arms all seem pretty good, no cracks or play.

Check you exhaust hanger at transmission mount, spent a month tracking down my "clunk" the rubber bushing at the hanger was worn out it was the exhaust pipe hitting the cross member. There is a write up on fixing it as the part is no longer made, I used a rubber bumper for a trailer ramp door and cut it to size the write has good measurements.

Before the "shop" sells you a transmission.
1) could you put in the trans mount flipped around? Probably

2)did it do the left turn thing noise before you replaced the mount? Could be a ¥√•€©® mount.

3) remove front ds. Noise still there?

Thanks, this is what I suspected but I don't believe its that. My exhaust pipe has very good clearance, and even trying to move the pipe by hand, it doesn't hit the crossmember

Yes, I am going to take the mount off soon and check it. I am really hoping it's that, as it would save me a lot of time, but I will check taking the front ds off. It has a good amount of play but not in the u joints, just rotational

Is the noise coming from the front or the back? The parts you mentioned are front end parts. I didn't see ujoints in there. If it only makes the noise when turning and it's from the front, I would suspect ujoints. A transmission would make the noise regardless of if you are turning or not.

There is nothing internal in the transmission that would be affected by turning. Motor mounts still in good shape?
