OK so I dropped the tranny AGAIN, rotated the tc until it clunked into place, and in the meantime i drained the t case, and also put a new filter in it.. Bolted it back in AGAIN making sure the TC didn't move around at all. I put everything together and fired her up with my fingers crossed and..... NOTHING! aaggghhh I can not figure this one out, still won't go into gear.. I added about 4 and a half quarts and I reads full on the dipstick while running. I let it run and ran it through all the gears and still NOTHING.. I don't know what to do... ANY more ideas? ??

I am still racking my brain... I checked all the vacuum connections and they seem fine.. What could keep it from going into gear? Something electrical? I need some ideas...

I know this will probably sound stupid, but it happened to me once when I rebuilt the T400 tranny on my old Cherokee Chief. Started it up and it wouldn't budge. After 2 hours of double-checking everything, I found that my transfer case was in neutral.

If the torque converter was not seated properly on your first installation you may have damaged the pump and/or the torque converter. Do some searching and you may find which is more common and what the fix may be.
