Default Transmission help

In need of some ideas. I have a it cherokee automatic 4.0. I put it in drive it says I'm in 3. I put it in reverse it says I'm in neutral. And when I put itnin park i have to push it til it clicks til it's fully in park if I don't it'll roll

Is the little plastic screen with the different letters on it just slightly off from where it should be?

I'm not sure. I took the shifter cluster out and everything looks good.

you have to set the little plastic tab down in the gap or else it'll be off. Mine was off when I bought it and I've accidentally put it back wrong before and made it slightly off.
