My question now is.... how do i add and check. i've always heard the best way to check the fluid is with the engine at running temperature and in neutral. is that what i should do? im thinking i will put a half a quart in.. and take it for a drive.. then i will check it in neutral.

any other suggestions for me??
Follow the directions engraved on the dipstick for proper level checking procedure.

so.... i got to O'riely last night to pick up my part.. and the guy walked up with a little tiny box.. they ordered the transmission mount instead of the tranny line... and said the line was a special order and i couldnt get it for a few days. so i couldnt get it done last night. i went to autozone this morning.. and they got me the part i needed and it should be in this afternoon and i will work on it tonight.

Just a few questions for you jeep experts.. and poster who just replaced the same line.

my fluid is leaking from a hole in the rubber hose near the radiator. but i can see transmission fluid clear back where the line attaches to the tranny. is it weird that the fluid has somehow got all the way back there or do you think i could possibly have another leak?

second.. for the poster who has already done this.. did you replace the line that attaches to the front or the back of the tranny? mine is the one that attaches to the front.

and lastly... after you were all done.. there would be air in the system because of the new hose.. do i need to burp it somehow? or will it work its self out??

Thanks for all the help and input.. Megan

What do you mean by "doesn't fit"? The new hose won't go on at all, or won't click into place? Is there an o-ring on the barb fitting in the radiator?

Won't go on at all.. The diameter of the female attachment is small enough that the hard line that goes to the radiator won't fit in it. I don't think there is an o-ring
