Default Transmission fluid change using Pela Extractor?

So I'm looking to change the transmission fluid on my 01 4.0 Cherokee. I intend to drop the pan and change the filter. The question I have is why wouldn't I be able to use my Pela Oil Extractor using the transmission fill pipe and suck up the fluid in the torque converter? Hopefully that makes some kind of sense.

Why not just drop the plug, drain the fluid, and replace the drained fluid with 3.8 quarts of new Dexron?

I think I'm missing something here. I was under the impression that even with the pan dropped there was a large amount of fluid still in the torque converter. I might be confused.

Your fluid extractor is only gonna get the stuff outta the pan, and not all of it. Just do a coupla drain and refills and you'll be fine.

There is, but you can't get at it from the fill tube either. A couple of drain and refills spaced over a period of time will get it done.

eta: I see Cruiser types faster, lol.

No, the book calls for Dex III

OP, the overhaul fill is 8.9 qts I believe, but a few drain and fills using 3.8 qts is the best way to exchange all the fluid. I don't think the pela can pull everything out of the torque converter, since it is in a separate cavity and not directly connected to the fluid in the pan.
