Default Transmission exhaust plate/transmission mount won’t line up

Hi, I just finished putting my transfer case back on my Jeep after having it out to install an

SYE kit. Taking it off I had no problems other than a few stubborn bolts. But as I went to go put the exhaust hanger plate thing and transmission mount back in, the holes won’t line up. I can get the holes to kind of line up but forcing the trans and transfer case over toward the driver side of the Jeep, but I wouldn’t be able to apply the needs pressure and thread the plate and mount back in. Any ideas?

Use a ratchet strap to pull the back of the tranny over. You might want to inspect your motor mounts too.

That’s what I just tried doing, gave up for the night cause I’m tired as hell, but you mean like pull it over towards the drivers side then try and screw em in? Wouldn’t that put a ton of stress of those bolts once released?

Yes, that is exactly what he is saying. It will work no problem. The reason he brought up the engine mounts was cause if they are worn or broken, it could cause the trans to kick sideways like you are experiencing. The added stress won't hurt the bolts though. Just tighten them before releasing the strap.
