Default Transmission/Drivetrain Issue??? Not Sure

Ok I am new to the Jeep platform and I have a 2001 Cherokee 4.0L and it seems like when I come to a complete somewhat hard stop it feels like there is a drivetrain thump, almost like being slightly rearended. Does anyone know if this is just normal for the Jeeps or is there some type of issue? Any input would be welcome and I thank you in advance for any insight.

Feels like it is coming from under the vehicle after a complete stop, then it feels like something underneath hasn't stopped with the Jeep and kinda slams forward a bit. I am going to check it at work tomorrow on the lift when I change the transfer case fluid. Everything seemed tight when I changed the oil last weekend but who knows. There is also a tapping/clicking type noise now at low speed and low RPM. Reminds me of the noise my old K5 made when the transfer case was low in 4WD. We will see.

Is the rear slip yoke binding? That's just for the thumping, not the clicking.

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone, I will check all of those tomorrow morning. I do not drive in 4WD on the pavement, I actually put it in 4WD this evening to see of the noise changed and the "Part Time" light never came on so I dont know if it actually went in or not, not dirt around when I tried it. So I will check that tomorrow also.
