Default Transmission and Drive Train move side to side

I asked this question in the "Ask a question thread" but got no response. I was changing my transmission filter and fluids the other day and I noticed that I could move the whole drive train from side to side. It's not easy but it will move with a good push.

What do I need to look into to fix this? I have never run across this problem.

Check your engine and trans mounts. Sounds like they are all shot.

Thanks for the response. I checked my motor mounts and they are there, the passenger side is cracked but not falling apart. Where would I find the tranny mounts? Are there any TC mounts or bolts I should check? It looks like the whole drive train moves from tranny to rear drive shaft.

Is this problem on that sweet XJ from the auction?!?!

The trans mount is at the tailshaft atop the crossmember. Get in there with a prybar and gurk it around while monitoring the mount for separation...

...Oops, my mistake - that was Hollis-something's auction purchase...
