I tore down my transmission (30-43LE) after burning it up due to a smashed cooler line (oops). I've found a few websites, however I cannot find a decent manual like the ATSG that isn't on a CD-ROM and wouldn't you know it, my computer doesn't have a CD-ROM, and I'm lost on what to replace, besides friction plates and seals. I can't find bearings or I don't know what I'm looking for. Like oregonperformancetransmission.com has a good kit, but no bearings, only a bushing kit. Now this is only the second ever transmission I've rebuilt, so keep the hate to a minimum...Now I can't imagine that my shift solenoids are bad, or even the valve body, but I wouldn't know how to check. ANY advice would be appreciated before I lose a bunch of money and time or if you could just point me in the direction of a repair manual that would be wonderful. I may have bitten off more than I can chew but I will eventually get through this endeavor!!! I took a lot of pictures though...

I will try and help, as I have a failed trans to rebuild, (but put in a spare in the meantime, a course of action many will advise)

go to this website and free download the relevant year FSM for your XJ, it has the rebuild manual for the AW4 within it
