does anyone know how hard is it to swap a ba10/5 out for an ax15?

It is not a direct swap,the peugeot is a 21 spline output shaft and the ax-15 is 23,you would need to replace the input shaft on xfer case at least,there is also issues with the slave cylinder setup,the ax-15 is by far a better trany,but if you want to make this painless,I would find a donor and use the drive train in it and slave cylinder and needed parts. Just my opinion.

do the bellhousing bolt patters match or do you have to find a separate housing for the AX15

I have never swap one before,but from what I do know about jeeps most things interchange,but if you can get the bellhousing to from the ax-15,or measure it to make sure.I think the biggest thing is where the slave cylinder is attached. There is some write ups I found on the internet.
