transfer case xj

transfer case xj
94 cherokee, when i put it in 4 wheel high or low it makes this loud drinding banging noise will not let me go to park with out makin a noise i shut it off put it in 2 wheel and start it back up goes through all the gears with no problem untill u put it in 4 wheel is my problem in the transfer case. Also when you put it in 4 low and let the wheels spin and hit the brakes it sounds like the transfer case is going to fall off the noise it makes is very loud can any one help
