Default transfer case wiggling

I have a clunk I'm trying to diagnose, not ujoints, I already checked. It happens when stopping and accelerating. I was under my jeep and I can wiggle my transfer case a little. If hard enough it sometimes creates a clunk. Are there mounts that could be broken? Thanks guys

Shouldn't be able to move it all. Check the trans to t-case bolts. No mounts for it aside from the trans mount.

Check your motor mounts, have been known to fail, directly connected to T-case. Generally not the rubber, rather the engine bolts shear.

The bolts CAN shear, but check the condition of your rubber motor mounts. They rot to pieces.

Well my motor mounts are shot! Brown dog it is! I really really hope that takes care of my clunking problem!

Really? And the bolts aren't sheared?

Doing a new trans mount, too?

It does not appear that the bolts are sheared(from what I could see) but I had someone get it the jeep and hold the gas and brake at the same time and the drivers side lifted up a couple inches. And yes, ill be doing transmission mount as well when I do the motor mounts. Does anyone know what trans mount is good? Thanks

Mine was doing the same thing. I lower the t case and retightened all the bolts to specs. Good to go now. There is 6 of them that attach to studs and can come loose easily.

Replace the engine mounts (especially the right side ususally goes) and check your transmission mount for play. Replacing all at the same time will most likely fix your clunck. Had same issue with mine, fixed with the above.
