trans question

so which trans did th renix XJs get? in particular, a 91 4.0auto 2-door renix. aw4 or ax15 or other?

For all: auto= aw4

4 cyl with manuals get ax5
89 or 90+ 4.0 manuals get ax15

older renix manual get peugot 5sp
older renix with 4 cyl and v6 may be different, not really sure

Engine: 4.0 liter RENIX I-6, DIY Cold Air Intake, 2.5 FM Exhaust, 3 Core Radiator

Your 91 XJ in not a RENIX. It has the 4.0 litre HO motor and much improved Chrysler fuel injection and electronics. The transmission options on a 91 XJ were AW-4-4 speed automatic and AX-15-5 speed manual.
